AWARDS
  • Diego Misseroni is the recipient of the 2024 "Thomas J. R. Hughes (ASME) Young Investigator Award for contributions to the fundamental understanding of the mechanical behavior of architected metamaterials by innovative experimental realizations leading to new insights and theoretical findings.
  • Prof. Diego Misseroni is awarded with the 2022 Zwick Roell Science Award and Paul Roell Medal for "innovative use of material testing machines in conducting experiments on metamaterials".

  • The Beyond research team has been awarded for the Best Video in the Gallery of Nonlinear Dynamics at the IUTAM Symposium on Nonlinear dynamics for design of mechanical systems across different length/time scales, July 31 - August 4, 2023, Tsukuba, Japan.

      
  • Dr Matteo Gaibotti, a member of the Beyond research team, has been the winner of the bronze award for the best presentation by a PhD student at the workshop "Mathematical Modelling in Solids and Structures".

      

  • Professor Diego Misseroni, a member of the Beyond research team, has been selected as winner of the prestigious Extreme Mechanics Letters (EML) Young Investigator Award for the paper “Experimental realization of tunable Poisson’s ratio in deployable origami metamaterials”. Misseroni’s paper presents a novel experimental setup to perform Poisson’s ratio experiments on origami-based metamaterials. The EML Young Investigator Award honors the best young researchers who have published their highly impactful papers in the EML journal.
